International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Men: 2022

The 2022 IDEVAM campaign highlighted the plight of Johnny Depp, who had been repeatedly abused by Amber Heard. In response to claims by feminist groups that Heard in fact had not been abusive, the following letter was signed by over 14,000 persons:

  • Supportive tweets were issued by thousands of individuals and organizations around the world. The tweets can be viewed HERE.
  • A global Twitter campaign was conducted. In India, the #StopViolenceOnMen hashtag trended on November 17, ranked at ninth place overall. Globally, 36,294 tweets featuring the hashtag #StopViolenceOnMen were sent by persons — see image to the right.
  • The #LaViolenciaNoTieneSexo hashtag was promoted in Spanish-speaking countries.
