Public Opinion is Now Turning Against Feminist Ideology

April 28, 2026 – For years, feminists held the moral high-ground and controlled the media narrative. Anyone who questioned the feminist “gender equality” orthodoxy was deemed to be “far right wing” or an outright misogynist. But in recent weeks, events around the world have revealed a growing disenchantment with feminist ideology.

The trend first became apparent in March, when Aptos released its annual 29-country survey of public attitudes to feminism (1). When asked, “I define myself as a feminist,” 50% of persons overall flatly responded, “no.”

In the following 13 countries, a majority of respondents expressed a rejection of feminism: Argentina (54%), Belgium (51%), Chile (56%), Colombia (56%), Germany (62%), Hungary (59%), Indonesia (53%), Japan (84%), Mexico (56%), Peru (62%), Poland (54%), South Korea (74%), and Turkey (58%).

Indeed, recent developments around the world further reveal that public support for feminism is declining sharply:

Canada: Writer Janice Fiamengo has penned a series of editorials that discredit the feminist claims. In her latest column, Women Can’t Build Civilization, Fiamengo argues that “women in general are not as committed as men in general to objective excellence and the pursuit of truth.” (2)
Mexico: Chanting, “I am a father, not a criminal,” the National Collective of Women for Equality, Children with MaPa, and other groups convened rallies across the country this past Friday in support of equal treatment for men before the law (3). Organizers circulated a petition that has been endorsed by over 126,000 persons (4).
United Kingdom: The New Statesman published an eye-opening survey about the rise of young, angry women (5), triggering heated debate. In response, sex researcher Debra Soh wrote, “How Young Women are Radicalized into Hating Men” that exposed the pervasive toxic influence of the online femosphere (6).
United States: Last Thursday, Evie Magazine published a hard-hitting article by Lisa Britton titled, “Hating Men Isn’t Improving Your Life.” Britton declared bluntly, “Female-led misandry is mainstream, and it’s in our schools, our media, our Hollywood blockbusters, and our university lecture halls. Podcasts hosted by women casually trash men as toxic, incompetent, sexist or irredeemable…The hatred isn’t just on the fringes. It’s everywhere.” (7)

Feminists have abandoned all pretense of pursuing a version of gender equality that embraces the needs of both men and women. Commentator Carrie Gress concludes stunningly, “The feminists have overplayed their hand; men and women are finally rejecting their tyrannical, entitled, and condescending mien.” (8)
