Feminists Abandon Pretense of ‘Gender Equality,’ Push for Female Superiority
October 7, 2024 – For years, feminists have claimed the goal of feminism was to achieve “gender equality.” But now, a very different feminist agenda has become apparent around the world.
Claims of female moral superiority can be traced back to the early suffragettes. In her book, The Awakening of Women, English feminist Frances Swiney openly asserted that women were biologically superior to men. “The female organism is the one on which Nature has bestowed the most care, prevision, and attention,” she claimed (1).
The feminist abandonment of gender equality has become apparent in at least three areas: Domestic violence, child custody, and gender health:
Domestic Violence: Hundreds of research studies conducted in 40 countries around the world point to a singular conclusion. In the words of researcher Martin Fiebert, women are “as physically aggressive as men (or more) in their relationships with their spouses or opposite-sex partners.” (2)
But feminists believe that attention to male victims should be minimized. In England, the government implausibly claims that its “Violence Against Women and Girls” strategy also encompasses males. But in practice, the UK campaign ignores the widespread problem of abusive women (3).
Child Custody: Originally, feminists supported shared child custody arrangements between the mother and father after divorce, both because it was the best arrangement for children and because it was consistent with the ideal of gender equality.
But that began to change when child support laws came into effect, and women soon realized that shared custody meant lower child support payments. Before long, the feminist party line reversed course in support of full maternal custody (4).
Health: In every country around the world, men experience a shorter life span than women. In Armenia, Belarus, and Russia, the sex disparity exceeds a stunning 10 years (5). Over the years, the World Health Organization has issued numerous reports and fact sheets on women’s health (6). But the WHO has ignored men’s health (7).
In 2001 the WHO issued a report titled, “Putting Women First: Ethical and Safety Recommendations for Research on Domestic Violence against Women” (8). The first three words of the document’s title quickly dispels any notion that feminists possess a true interest in achieving gender “equality.”
For years, the public has possessed a quasi-religious belief in the stated feminist goal of gender equality. But like all ideologies based on totalitarian philosophies (9), the truth emerges in the end.
The Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance – DAVIA — consists of 161 member organizations from 37 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. DAVIA seeks to ensure that domestic violence and abuse polices are science-based, family-affirming, and gender-inclusive. https://endtodv.org/coalitions/davia/
