Comedian Greg Gutfeld Urges Liberals to Rethink Their Approach to Men, or Face ‘Terrifying’ Election Results

March 18, 2024 – Across the globe, young men are fleeing liberalism. Public opinion polls reveal that millions of men under 30 years of age are becoming more conservative than their female counterparts, by remarkable margins of 25 to 35 percentage points. In country after country, a historic political realignment is now taking place: China, Germany, Poland, South Korea, Tunisia, United Kingdom, and the United States (1), as well as Argentina (2) and Canada (3).

In his March 13 monologue, American comedian Greg Gutfeld brought this trend to the attention of his TV audience, offering a scathing assessment of the reasons behind the decline of male support for liberalism (4):

“Men are fleeing the Democratic Party like the showing of Barbie….they’re becoming the party of AWFLs: affluent white female liberals… And men are like, ‘Hey, we know when we’re not wanted. We’ll see ourselves out,’” he revealed.

Gutfeld continued, men “know the Democratic Party has become a gender-specific party….They’ve alienated men in favor of tormented activists…It’s a party that’s inhospitable to the Y chromosome. If you’re a man, why stick around?”

The reason for this historic change is the growing feminization of liberal political parties around the world.

A majority of young people in 32 countries now believe feminist policies have gone too far. According to the Ipsos survey, 52% of Gen Z and 53% of Millennials agree that “we have gone so far in promoting women’s equality that we are discriminating against men.” (5)

Much of the criticism of feminism centers around its aggressive promotion of three harmful stereotypes of men:

  1. Domestic Abusers: Last Friday, the Independent reported on a 20-year “reign of terror” by Sheree Spencer against her husband (6). Indeed, domestic violence is an equal opportunity problem that affects equal numbers of men and women (7). But UN Women refuses to acknowledge even the existence of female abusers (8).
  2. Warmongers: Research shows that during times of imminent conflict, women are more likely than men to favor military action (9). One analysis concludes bluntly, “Throughout history, queens were more likely to wage war than kings.” (10) But UN Women insists on promoting a stereotype of women as “peace-makers” (11), a view that reflects negatively on men.
  3. Patriarchal Oppressors: When men are elected to political office, one of their first priorities is to enact legislation designed to help women. But inexplicably, United Nations ideologues cast male lawmakers as “patriarchal oppressors.” In his recent speech, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres repeatedly invoked the specter of patriarchy, concluding, “I very much look forward to hearing your views on how, together, we can take power from the patriarchy.” (12)

Men are now lagging behind women in 12 major areas such as education, healthcare, homelessness, and more (13). If the “patriarchy” is so powerful, why did it allow men to fall behind women in so many ways?

These specious – some would say, hateful (14) — stereotypes serve to marginalize men, weaken families, and sidetrack achievement of the goal of gender equality for all.
