Argentinian President Calls Out Pervasive Dishonesty and Hypocrisy of Feminism
February 17, 2025 – Argentinian president Javier Milei recently traveled to Davos, Switzerland to deliver a speech at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (1). During his 30-minute presentation, Milei sharply challenged “sick wokeism,” identity politics, and the crusade against climate change.
But Milei’s strongest criticisms were directed to feminist ideology and its claim to be working for the goal of gender equality. Feminism has become a “distortion of the concept of equality…which is redundant, as equality before the law already exists in the West,” Milei explained. “Everything else is a quest for privileges, which what radical feminism truly seeks. Pitting half of the population against the other half, when they should both be on the same side.” (2)
Milei went on to illustrate this inequality by revealing the double-standard that surrounds murder victims in many countries:
“We have even gotten to the point of normalizing the fact that in many supposedly civilized countries, if you kill a woman, it is called ‘femicide.’ And this carries more serious punishment than if you kill a man, simply based on the sex of the victim, legally making a woman’s life be worth more than that of a man.”
Milei then disputed the long-standing feminist claim of a gender wage gap:
“They carry the banner of the ‘gender-based wage gap,’ but when you look at the data, it is clear there is no inequality for the same work. But rather that, most men tend to choose better paid professions than most women. However, they [feminists] don’t complain about the fact that most prison inmates are men, or that most plumbers are men, or that most victims of robbery or murder are men, or that a majority of persons who died in wars are men.”
Milei concluded by chiding feminists who have abandoned thoughtful debate in favor of name-calling and prevarication:
“But if you raise these points in the media or even at this Forum, you are considered a ‘misogynist.’ Simply for defending an elementary principle of modern democracy and the rule of law, which is equality before the law.”
Following his election in 2023, Milei disbanded his country’s Ministry of Women, Genders, and Diversity (3). The Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance urges leaders in other countries to do the same, or risk seeing their countries descend into irrational totalitarianism.
The Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance – DAVIA — consists of 179 member organizations from 37 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. DAVIA seeks to ensure that domestic violence and abuse polices are science-based, family-affirming, and gender-inclusive. https://endtodv.org/coalitions/davia/
