Growing Criticisms Around the World of ‘Toxic Feminism’

October 5, 2026 – A survey by the Survey Center on American Life reported that a stunning 66% of Democratic women ages 18 to 29 now blame men for their problems. (1) These numbers reflect the result of women being endlessly lectured by feminist ideologues that they are victims of “patriarchal oppression.”

Many say there is no such thing as patriarchy, and that the global balance of power has shifted to women. Women now outpace men in 12 areas such as health status, educational attainment, homelessness, shared parenting, and many more. (2)

A recent analysis by The Federalist Papers explained, “it is time to talk about toxic feminism. Not womanhood. Not motherhood. Not real compassion for women in crisis. Toxic feminism.”

The critique continues, “Toxic feminism has turned leftist women into permanent victims, treats emotion as evidence, treats accountability as cruelty, and tells society that a woman’s suffering can outrank the people she harmed.” (3)

Last week saw the annual opening of the United Nations General Assembly. Instead of the usual reflexive calls for “women’s empowerment” and “gender equality,” presidents from countries around the world highlighted how feminism has become an existential threat to the family and to society: (4)

Argentina: Javier Milei accused the UN of becoming a “bureaucratic Leviathan devoted to deciding how the peoples of the world and their citizens should live.”
Peru: Keiko Sofía Fujimori charged that agendas imposed by the UN “have divided us as a society, politics have been instrumentalized, democracy has been eroded, and the institution of the family has been weakened.”
Turkey: Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “Global gender neutralization policies have turned into a siege targeting children and the institution of the family.”

Efforts to counter toxic feminism are being witnessed around the world:

Argentina: Organized by the Argentine Women’s Front Against False Accusations, last month protesters marched in 20 cities around the country. Senator Carolina Losada introduced a bill that would send persons who deliberately make a false accusation to prison for one to three years. (5)

Mexico: On September 9, men and women demonstrated around the country for International Falsely Accused Day. Chanting, “Being a Man is Not a Crime,” demonstrators protested against the feminist-driven “vicarious violence” policies that unfairly accuse fathers. (6)

United States: The trial of Lindsay Clancy, charged with murdering her three children in her Massachusetts home, has attracted widespread public attention. The attorney for Michael Desronvil, who had voted in favor of Clancy’s conviction, accused persons issuing death threats as members of the “lunatic mob.” (7)

In her recent book, The Goddess That Failed, Canadian commentator Janice Fiamengo reveals, “Women’s role for centuries was to nurture children and to pass on wisdom, to support their husbands and families, to excel at home-making, and to offer comfort. Now we see women who are violent, vengeful, bitter, and destructive.” (8)
