Feminism Is Turning into a Totalitarian Nightmare

October 13, 2025 – UN Women is coming under intense criticism for its aggressive promotion of the “gender” agenda. Recently the UN delegate from India reproached UN Women, saying issues such as poverty and education “seemed sidelined” in the UN Women’s new Strategic Plan (1). The African Union charges UN gender agendas are undermining traditional roles. And much more.

At the core of the criticism lies the feminist rejection of democratic ideals such as free speech, equal treatment under law, and due process. These developments are being seen around the world:

Free Speech

Free speech is the bedrock of democratic societies — but feminists are determined to change that. UN Women is at the forefront of efforts to promote speech codes, under the guise of curbing “hate speech.” (2)

At Edith Cowan University in Australia, James Nuzzo’s adjunct appointment was not renewed because of his research-informed views on sex and gender.” (3) In April, Nuzzo published an analysis that revealed women were not “understudied” or “underrepresented” in medical research – a finding that runs counter to the orthodoxy of the women’s health activists (4).

Professor Leigh Revers likewise confirms that in Canada, “tertiary education is increasingly becoming a matriarchal enterprise run by women for women.” (5)

Equal Treatment Under Law

Globally, mothers commit 72% of all child murders (6). This statistic was recently echoed in Spain, where among children killed by their parents in 2024, 9 were killed by the father and 20 by the mother – a 69% maternal homicide figure (7).

In response, Spanish lawmakers have drafted a bill to establish a new category of crime: “vicarious violence.” Vicarious violence refers to fathers who murder their children “to cause pain or suffering to the woman through instrumental or intermediary persons.” (8)

But vicarious violence does not apply to maternal perpetrators – an inexplicable and blatant negation of the principle of equal treatment under law.

Due Process

Canadian commentator Janice Fiamengo recently published a stunning exposé of the feminist campaign to eliminate due process from sexual assault trials (9). Fiamengo reveals,

“Nowhere is feminism’s assault on our civilization so clear as in the domain of sexual assault law….High profile cases are frequently discussed as if the fact of male transgression is almost beyond doubt. In cases where a not guilty verdict ensues, feminist advocates are given abundant opportunity—usually without any rebuttal—to complain about the result and make catastrophizing predictions.”

Fortunately around the world, persons are pushing back against the totalitarian threat:

  • In Argentina, President Javier Milei is backing a proposal to impose a penalty of up to 6 years in prison for persons who make false allegations of domestic violence or child abuse (10).
  • In India, judges are issuing rulings against false accusers (11).
  • In the United States, staffers designated to enforce provisions of the Violence Against Women Act are being reassigned (12).

Even more frightening to old-guard feminists is the growth of the “traditional wives” movement in which women embrace a lifestyle centered on homemaking and a rejection of feminist ideals (13).

The specter of feminist-driven totalitarianism now threatens democratic societies around the world. Lawmakers and others around the world must take action.
