Exaggerated Allegations as Deterrence? Tate Brothers Held On Multiple New Charges
LONDON – 31st June 2026 — Andrew and Tristan Tate are currently being held in a federal detention facility in Miami, Florida, after being arrested by US Marshals. A federal judge ruled that they must remain in jail for at least two more weeks while they fight an extradition request to the United Kingdom.
The Tates maintain they have done nothing wrong and should not face extradition for crimes they did not commit. The brothers, who are dual US-British citizens, thus face a massive escalation in their international legal battles.

Andrew Tate faces 42 total UK charges: seven new counts of rape, three counts of sex trafficking, three counts of assault, and 19 additional charges involving extreme pornography and indecent images of a child. Tristan Tate faces a 17 total of UK charges: two new counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and three counts of sex trafficking. The new UK charges cover alleged offences that occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.
They were arrested in late 2022 on human trafficking and rape charges. They denied the allegations, and the Romanian case (the Tates are resident in Romania) stalled due to procedural flaws. Their travel bans were lifted, allowing them to fly to Florida
