Empowering The Innocent Brings #IamJohn Campaign to Falsely Accused Day 2026
September 8, 2026 – September 9th 2026 would have been BBC presenter Simon Warr’s birthday had he not succumbed to cancer some years ago, a cancer many believe was brought on after being falsely accused of child abuse. Falsely Accused Day has been taking place on this day over the years of this decade so far, and is now observed internationally.
Justice for Innocent Men Scotland, or JIMS, has been making brilliant progress recently in drawing attention to those falsely accused of rape or sexual assault north of the border, whether in prison or not. Such good progress had they made that the Supreme Court of England and Wales ruled that Scottish courts were being too restrictive and punitive in their own version of Keir Starmer’s ‘believe the victim’ policy, to the point of making a not guilty verdict near impossible if a case came to trial. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2np4en9e2o
Long before this decision, supporters of high-profile ‘anti-rape campaigner’ Ellie Wilson had been furious with JIMS, labelling them ‘rapist supporters’ and the like, when all JIMS were campaigning for was fair trials. Abertay University academic Stuart Waiton was hounded, harassed and had his office daubed with graffiti for his outspoken support for JIMS and pressure to hold Scottish courts to the actual rule of law.
So north for Abertay, also south for Bristol, as that university’s Dr Michael Naughton’s Empowering The Innocent will be represented at the London Falsely Accused Day by Sean Bw Parker, now free from licence conditions and speaking about his new book about his case, Magnolia Graffiti. While JIMS have had their success in the Supreme Court, Naughton and Parker have been holding the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to account over their (ab)use of the ‘voluntary intoxication’ policy, showing why it is contrary to the Equality and Human Rights Acts. Magnolia Graffiti is published in association with ETI, the False Allegations Support Organisation (FASO, headed by Margaret Gardener, who will be in attendance at FAD, as well as representatives from FACT.
There will be a number of speakers giving short talks, and there will also be a dedicated protest in support of Lucy Letby, the nurse maintaining innocence for her conviction of the murder of babies at the Countess of Chester hospital on the day, timed to coincide. Now being held in numerous countries around the world on the same day, Falsely Accused Day has become the focal point for highlighting the ideological capture of justice systems everywhere.
