Feminists Who Show Open Contempt for the Truth

July 16, 2026 – A video released earlier this week features two former First Ladies, Jill Biden and Michelle Obama, making sweeping claims about women’s health research (1). Jill Biden asserted that “women’s health is understudied and research is under-funded.” Michelle Obama stated bluntly, “Why isn’t there enough research in women’s health? Because so many men have no idea what women go through.”

These claims are factually incorrect. An independent analysis of National Institutes of Health (NIH) data found that, over a 28-year period, females accounted for 58% of all participants in NIH-funded clinical trials (2). In sex-specific research, women have outnumbered men by a 2:1 margin (3). Multiple independent reviews have reached the same conclusion: it is men, not women, who have been substantially understudied in medical research (4).

Unfortunately, these statements reflect a broader pattern in which some feminists routinely distort, misrepresent, or ignore factual evidence. These are four prominent examples:

Patriarchy: A foundational belief of feminist theory is the existence of a pervasive “patriarchy” that systematically oppresses women. Yet this overlooks extensive evidence showing that men lag behind women in 12 major areas of well-being (5). The real imbalance in many domains appears closer to matriarchy than patriarchy.

Domestic Violence: Hundreds of studies worldwide show that men and women experience similar rates of domestic violence (6). However, organizations such as UN Women highlight only male-perpetrated violence while ignoring female-initiated abuse (7) — including elevated rates among lesbian couples (8).

Online Harassment: The Women’s Media Center analyzed over 100,000 online harassment posts around the world, concluding that females were the perpetrators in 52% of cases (9). And a 2021 Pew Research poll similarly found that 43% of men and 38% of women reported being harassed online (10). Despite this, UN Women campaigns on the issue consistently portray harassment as a problem perpetrated exclusively by men against women (11).

False Allegations: False accusations of abuse, particularly in family court proceedings, are a documented global problem. Surveys conducted in Argentina, Australia, United Kingdom, United States (12), and elsewhere (13) consistently reveal that women are more likely to make false allegations than men.

Some feminists openly embrace reshaping reality to fit ideological goals. UK feminist Adrienne Barnett, for example, conjured up the concept of “feminist scholarship,” which is “not just about understanding society, it’s about changing society,” and has even suggested that researchers may “create data” rather than “simply collect it.” (14)

A healthy civilization cannot long tolerate the systematic distortion of truth. Those who fabricate or knowingly misrepresent facts — whether in public statements, scholarship, or policy advocacy — should be held accountable through both social and legal consequences.
