World Economic Forum Debates Long-Overdue Changes to the UN

January 22, 2026 – Each year world leaders convene at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to debate the state of the world affairs. This year, the tone was decidedly downbeat as delegates reflected on the decline of multilateralism and the well-documented shortcomings of the United Nations.

Setting the character of the meeting were comments by Sir Niall Ferguson. The Scottish historian sharply condemned discriminatory practices wielded against White men — often referred to as “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” — that have resulted in “appreciable impacts on the quality of the work that was done.” Such policies have resulted in the “publication of absolutely bogus research in phony journals,” Ferguson charged (1).

The decline of cooperative international policies, often referred to as “multilateralism,” garnered widespread attention during the Davos sessions (2):

Canadian prime minister Mark Carney described the multilateral architecture of the United Nations as “greatly diminished” and “under threat.”
U.S. president Donald Trump boasted that American initiatives in Venezuela, Gaza, and elsewhere had overshadowed the futile efforts of the UN.
Argentinian president Javier Milei described “wokeism” as a “cancer” to Western civilization, and cited socialist Venezuela as a prime example of a “bloody narco-dictatorship.”
Annalena Baerbock, president of the UN General Assembly, admitted that “The UN is not only under pressure, but under outright attack.”

Even greater ideological divisions have become evident within the sprawling UN bureaucracy itself:

Abortion: Abortion advocates within the UN constantly pressure countries to increase access to abortion services. This is one of the major causes of declining birth rates in countries around the world (3).
Transgenderism: For years, UN Women has been a strong advocate for transgender ideology. But now, a UN Special Rapporteur has sharply challenged this ideology (4). And a Strategic Plan espousing transgenderism recently was opposed by delegates from Saudi Arabia, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Senegal, UAE, Qatar, Paraguay, Zimbabwe, Mauritania, Russia, and Egypt (5).
Defamation of Men: At the UN, men are subjected to ongoing vilification. Most recently, UN Women launched a global campaign to curb “online harassment,” constantly portraying men as the perpetrators and women as the victims. In truth, men are more likely than women to be targets of online harassment (6).
Censorship: Under the guise of curbing “disinformation” and “hate speech,” the General Assembly recently adopted a resolution calling for global censorship policies (7).

These developments have come amidst growing public awareness of the widespread problem of the Great Feminization, a phenomenon that refers to the growing number of institutions, such as the United Nations, that have come under the sway of feminist norms and pressure tactics.

“The Great Feminization is truly unprecedented,” Andrews warns. “No civilization in human history has ever experimented with letting women control so many vital institutions of our society.” (8)
