Murderous Moms, Protective Dads

October 29, 2025 – The scourge of children being murdered by their mothers has become a global epidemic. These cases were reported in just the last two weeks:

  • Australia: Contessa Leigh Marie Richardson of Queensland has been charged with setting her house on fire, causing the deaths of her son and two others (1).
  • England: Kaylani Kalanzi was found guilty of killing her three-month old daughter by violently shaking her and causing catastrophic brain injuries (2).
  • USA: Joelene Louise Rodriguez was accused of killing her 4-year-old son with premeditated intent after the child was found stabbed in a bathtub (3).

These are not isolated incidents. A global analysis found that mothers commit 72% of all infant murders (4). In the United States, mothers are twice as likely as fathers to murder the child (5).

Child abuse cases reveal a similar pattern. In the United Kingdom, perpetrators of child abuse are 71% mothers and 29% fathers (6).

The problem becomes dramatically worse when a divorced mother is awarded sole child custody. In the UK, children with single mothers have a 14-fold higher risk of experiencing serious child abuse, and a 7-fold higher risk of suffering fatal child abuse, compared to children living with married biological parents (7). A similar pattern has been documented in the United States (8).

The solution is straight-forward: Involve fathers actively in family life, especially following a divorce. Indeed, studies in the United States confirm that when fathers receive equal shared child custody, domestic violence rates decline (9). Similar positive outcomes for equal shared parenting have been documented in Spain (10).

Given these facts, one would expect lawmakers to be strongly supportive of shared parenting arrangements, which have proven beneficial in reducing domestic violence (11).

But inexplicably, feminist-driven policymakers are opposed to shared parenting. Last week, the UK government unveiled a new policy that family courts will no longer operate with a presumption of shared parenting.

Charlotte Proudman is an extreme feminist who seeks to end what she calls “white male privilege and entitlement” (12). The UK barrister has even argued that “When a complainant alleges rape, domestic abuse, or coercive control, the accused should not be permitted to seek findings that the complainant has ‘lied’ about the allegations.” (13)

So persons were not surprised when Charlotte Proudman made this illogical claim about the new parenting policy: “This sends a clear message: children’s welfare will always be the priority and parents cannot use the system to perpetrate harm.” (14)

Once again, feminists uttered the opposite of the truth in their neo-Marxist quest to promote an anti-family, anti-father agenda.

The Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance – DAVIA — consists of 209 member organizations from 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. DAVIA seeks to ensure that domestic violence and abuse policies are science-based, family-affirming, and gender-inclusive. https://endtodv.org/davia/
