Disturbing Escalation of Female Political Violence Around the World

July 14, 2025 – Prior to World War I, suffragettes in the United Kingdom engaged in a sustained campaign of political violence that included bomb attacks, burning down of homes, and the attempted assassination of Prime Minister Herbert Asquith. Four persons were killed in the attacks, and at least 24 were injured (1).

But subsequently gaining the right to vote did not abate the attacks:

Ulrike Meinhof, Germany: A co-founder of the far-left Red Army Faction, Meinhof was involved in attacks that killed several people, including soldiers and civilians. She was arrested in 1972 and spent the rest of her life in custody (2).

Chiswick Women’s Aid, United Kingdom: Erin Pizzey was the founder of the first domestic violence shelter in the world, Chiswick Women’s Aid. Pizzey revealed that among the shelter residents, most of them were equally or more violent than their husbands. In response, feminists mounted a harassment campaign of public rallies and bomb threats, eventually forcing Pizzey to flee to the United States (3).

During the past decade, women have become even more radicalized (4):

Antifa, United States: Female members of Antifa have been arrested in violent protests, such as the 2017 Inauguration Day riots in Washington, DC, and the 2020 Portland, Oregon clashes (5).

Jihadist Terrorism, Middle East: Women have played an active role in the radical Jihadist movement in Syria, Tunisia, and Libya. They have carried out bombings, such as Mouna Guebla’s 2018 attack in Tunisia (6).

Dobbs v. Jackson, United States: Following the leak of the Dobbs v. Jackson abortion decision from the U.S. Supreme Court, a spike of violent attacks on churches and pro-life clinics and organizations was documented. In 2023 alone, 436 acts of violence were identified, including fire-bombings and vandalization of buildings (7).

International Women’s Day, Mexico: In recent years, demonstrations on International Women Day have increased in their number and intensity of violence. On March 8, tens of thousands of feminists staged a protest in Mexico City, with multiple government buildings set on fire. The feminist Black Bloc group smashed storefronts, painted graffiti, and destroyed objects as they marched through the streets (8).

Kings and Queens, Europe: Research shows queens have been more war-prone than kings. Between 1480 and 1913, Europe’s queens were 27% more likely than its kings to wage war (9). More recently, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was an aggressive proponent for the 2019 Falklands War against Argentina (10).

Seeking to counter the negative media coverage, feminists pressured the UN Security Council to approve Resolution 1325, which affirms the “important role of women” in the “resolution of conflicts and in peace-building” (11). But the UN Resolution does not provide a single real-world example in which women helped mediate an armed conflict, nor does the statement cite any studies showing women possess a more “peaceful” disposition.

Persons need to stop romanticizing the wave of violence committed by women, and law enforcement personnel need to crack down on the worsening problem of female-perpetrated violence.

The Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance – DAVIA — consists of 191 member organizations from 39 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. DAVIA seeks to ensure that domestic violence and abuse polices are science-based, family-affirming, and gender-inclusive. https://endtodv.org/davia/
