DAVIA: Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance
Internationally-known dancer Britney Spears repeatedly attacked her husband as he slept, friends revealed, leaving numerous marks on his body. So why weren’t the police called, and why wasn’t Spears held accountable for the attacks?
The Domestic Abuse and Violence International Alliance is a global human rights organization. DAVIA’s organizational members subscribe to the principles of domestic violence and abuse policies that are:
- Science-based
- Family-affirming, and
- Gender-inclusive
Domestic abuse includes the use of coercive control, false allegations, and parental alienating behaviors. Domestic violence consists of actions or threats of violence directed towards an intimate partner. If your organization supports these principles, we invite you to join DAVIA. Domestic abuse and domestic violence have become topics of vigorous public debate in which the claims of gender activists:
- Diverge dramatically from the findings of hundreds of research studies, which show that men and women engage in domestic violence at similar levels.
- Are easily disproven, such as the claim that COVID lockdown policies resulted in a “shadow pandemic of violence” against women.
- Serve to stereotype men and promote policies that violate men’s civil rights, such as the right to due process and the presumption of innocence.
